Max is a 10 year old Lab mix who came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue after his human passed away. Max has had a great life with his family of the past 8 years but he came to them and now to us with some baggage. It appears that the first 2 years of Max’s life where not the best and humans failed to teach him what kindness was.
This handsome boy is very sweet and has a soft/gentle personality; but he can be shy when he first meets someone and if they startle him he gets scared and will nip at them. But give him a second to smell you and he will be your best friend forever. Max is loyal to his people and is an amazing companion; he bounds very deeply with his person and never left his owners side throughout her illness.
A lover of hiking and the outdoors Max would enjoy having a new family that will take him out and about – the foothills are a big favorite of his! Max is okay with other dogs that are low key like he is but he can be a bit picky about his friends. He warms up to them slowly and would likely prefer to be the only pet in the home.
Max is house trained, good on leash and has nice house manners! He is just an all-around great boy who is no trouble and a great house mate!
Max may have lost the love of his person but he has a ton more to give to someone who is kind, soft and gentle just like he is. He longs to go for long slow walks and be your constant companion.
